Sledding
Wow, that sure was a blast!
A bunch of us went to Slab Cabin Run to wreak a little havoc on ourselves. Within 10 minutes one person took on a tree; the tree won. We got her patched up and back on a sled in no time.
The hill is fairly steep and about 250 feet long. It was covered with a few inches of hard-packed snow, making it very slick.
We had a great time going down the hill racing, single, double, 4 pairs in parallel, and 4 pairs in a chain. Usually we ended up going backwards for part of the hill; it was difficult to steer on the icy slopes. A few braved the jump, but not I.
Afterwards we roamed the WSC, from the lounge to the green room, the kitchen and back. We ended up shooting a few games of pool and watching a movie.
On the way out, there was an unusual incident in the coffee house. And there was another incident on the way home. I was about to pull out onto College, and a guy on the sidewalk flagged me down. I rolled down the passenger window a bit, and he said he and his friend wanted a ride to Burrows. I declined. He protested, saying I was going that way anyhow, and tried to get into the car. The doors were locked, so I rolled up the window and pulled out onto College. As I pulled away, the guy and his friend banged on the car's windows and trunk.
Oh, what an evening!
